Geyerspan, a picturesque farm quietly nestled in the North West Province of South Africa, offers the perfect setting for the magnificent Friesian horse. It indeed accommodates one of the largest Friesian studs in the Southern Hemisphere, as well as Friesian crosses with different breeds.
In a period of more than two centuries forty horses of this breed have been imported to this stud and it became the most important breeding source for the local Friesian industry. Recently twelve horses of the ancient Noriker breed were imported from Austria.
Geyerspan is renowned for the yearly Hoof-beat festival, expo and auction hosted on the farm. It is also the venue of the North-West, as well as the national rodeo championships. With its beautiful gardens and facilities, it is the ideal venue for weddings and other events.
