ANNUAL HOOF-BEAT FESTIVAL
Geyerspan annually hosts the well-known HOOFBEAT festival in May and the SA Rodeo Championships will be held here on November, 5 for the second consecutive year. The first of this year’s HOOFBEAT festivals will be held on 13 OCTOBER and will kick off at 09:00 in the main arena. You are welcome to attend the festivities – a day with entertainment and surprises.
There will be 50 spectacular events by horses and ponies of fifteen different breeds, an elite auction, Noriker horses with Geyerspan’s unique beer wagon and much more! One of the main attractions will be the first North West Rodeo Championships with fiery bulls and reckless cowboys. It will be dare-devilry at its best! Starting time: 15:00.
Throughout the day there will be cultural activities in “The Laager”.See how our ancestors excelled in the trades of wheel trimming, whip-weaving, the making of farm-soap and the baking of bread in an open oven.
While traditional folk-dancers and a “boere-orkes” will be entertaining you, oxen will be in-spanned in front of a real ox-wagon. Many stalls, exhibitions and a range of foodstuffs to enjoy. One of the main attractions will be a Rodeo competition with fiery bulls and reckless Cowboys. It will be dare-devilry at its best! Something not to be missed! Cheerfulness and nostalgia in the main hall with Country Legends Billy Forrest and Bobby Angel, as well as Daniel Hoffmann, Etha, Sonja Lochenberg & other promising singing stars. From 09:00 till late!
Fun for the Youth in their own amusement park: Games with miniature horses, horse rides, an exhibition of lion-cubs, jumping castles, as well as interesting competitions where attractive prizes could be won. From “kettie”- and target- shooting to horseshoe-throwing!
Cultural activities in “The Laager”. See how our ancestors excelled in the trades of wheel trimming, horse shoeing, whip-weaving, the making of farm-soap and the baking of bread in an open oven. While Afrikaner folk-dancers will be treating you, oxen will be in spanned in front of a real ox-wagon. Enjoy home made sosaties, German music and beer from a real beer-wagon in our “cattle-post”.
Some of the top SA Angus cattle will be seen here. Many stalls, exhibitions and a range of foodstuffs to enjoy. Geyerspan Beer Wagon
South Africa’s only functional beer wagon can be hired for festivals and other related occasions. Noriker draught horses will be available for pulling it.
This unique wagon will be one of the main attractions at the forthcoming HOOFBEAT festival at Geyerspan on 13 OCTOBER as well as at the NATIONAL RODEO CHAMPINSHIPS on November 5.
